Terms of Reference for ACCESS Science Advisory Group
  1. To support the ACCESS Science Leader by providing scientific advice on the development and implementation of ACCESS, including recommendations on priorities and options.
  2. Work with the ACCESS science leader to identify key decisions that need to be made by the Steering Committee and assist the ACCESS science leader bring these forward to the Steering Committee for consideration.
  3. As part of its advice the Science Advisory Group recommendations should include ranked options that take into account constraints on both the Bureau of Meteorology and CSIRO in delivering on existing commitments.
  4. To assess and review ACCESS scientific and technical developments, in accordance with Steering Committee decisions, and take account of emerging developments in climate and earth system modelling, including numerical weather prediction.
  5. To advise on the integration, balance and priorities between the various tasks required to achieve ACCESS.
  6. Consult with the scientific community so as to optimise the intellectual input to the development of ACCESS. This may include organising workshops and meetings.
  7. To provide regular reports to the Steering Committee, through the ACCESS Science Leader, on progress and issues.
